QuestionI live in Colorado. Have a patch of dirt bordering back fence. Area receives morning sun, none in afternoon. Gets lots of water via sprinkler system. Would like to plant some perennials, preferably ones that would bloom at some point during the year. I am a gardening novice, so would like something no muss no fuss. Area is about 8 feet long, so a few different types would be great. Thank you!
AnswerGigi,
Welcome to the world of gardening.
Here are some of my favorite, easy to grow, long flowering perennials
Purple coneflower
Shasta Dasiy
Scabiosa Butterfly Blue and Pink Mist
Coreopsis Early Sunrise
Achillea Parkers Gold
Coreopsis Zagreb
These plants have mature dimensions of about 2' x 2' so don't go crazy and buy too many for your space. If you get 5 or 6 plants your border will be beautiful next summer.
Good luck in the garden.
