We have a problem with our grass  every time it rains hard it washes away the soil under grass is there anything that we can do to stop it Mrs olinde

Hello,

Maybe soil underneath grass is of poor quality.  Use sod or use seed on erosion resistant soil topped with straw to lessen erosion while grass seed takes root. If poor soil is regularly saturated this will increase erosion. Look for ways to keep the soil dryer if this is the case.


Soils easily eroded:

clay

silt

sandy


A soil high in organic matter resists erosion.
