using ash as a mulch

Good afternoon. I live in Northern Kentucky and have an ash tree that has to come down (stuck by lightning, split trunk). I wanted to chip the branches and smaller pieces to use as a mulch in a side yard, away from the house but under other trees. Is this advisable to use ash for this? I understand the concern about ash borer impacting live trees but will this jeopardize my other ash trees, maples, and white pines if this chipped product is placed underneath and around them?

Using chips from trees that have been infested is OK, as long as they have been run through a chipper.  Our biologists (I currently work for a federal land management agency) think that the larvae don't survive the trip.
