Minor drainage issue

Question
The outside A/C drainage pipe coming from my house is about 2 inches from the surface of the soil. During A/C usage, the dripping water escapes much faster than the soil can absorb. This causes a large amount of water to back up and in order to prevent problems, a small pit is cleared out beneath the pipe in order to contain the water. There is about 2 cups of standing water in the pit each day.

Is there a better way to handle this drainage problem? I had considered creating a sloping trench to help spread out and redistribute the water. I also considered attaching more piping (maybe pvc) to the trench to help it along. I'm clueless as to whether or not this would be the right route to take.

Any advice?

Answer
Dig a gravel sump or french drain either will work. Perhaps the easiest thing is a 2-3 foot deep hole filled with gravel maybe 12" wide. Its really that simple, unless your ground wont perc, then you may have to do a longer french drain.
That should work fin too.
