QuestionWe live in an area of Oregon with LOTS of Stones, Large, and Larger, when we clear a field the small stone above the ground surface, turns into a Very Large stone below the surface, where and how can we sell them. Who do we contact and where do we start. Is there a permit needed to sell these very large stone from your own property and where would I find that out. I appreciate your time and your advise.
AnswerHey there- Go to www.avison.com, it's a stone quarry in Molalla, Oregon. I'd start there, ask them some questions.
If you just want to bring out some rocks/boulders and sell them, that may be on a smaller scale the actually mining out all the stone--that would be a big deal. The question is, are you able to extract the stone yourself, or do you need someone else to do it? Does it need to be blasted out, or can a machine just pull it up? If you can get the stone up (or pay a guy with a machine for a day to do so), then you could palletize some boulders and sell them to local landscapers on a small scale. You'd still have to work out loading them onto their truck if you don't have a skid loader.
Good luck to you on this endeavor! Hopefully you come up with a win-win!
