QuestionWe have a fountain in the front yard that doesn't hold water at all. The only way is to keep the hose on inside of it. I fear the water is seeping out into the ground. Can you help me identify the problem so we can correct it?
Thanks, Laura Hall
AnswerStop filling the fountain and see if it holds any water. If it all runs out in a day or so then you definitely have a hole or porous surface in the fountain. You can help to locate the problem by how far the water drops in the fountain. If it drops all the way to the bottom then your hole or problem is likely at the bottom. If it stops half way then your hole is somewhere along the water line where it stops. Finding leaks is tricky even for pros.
Good luck
