Questionwhat is the best and easiest way to level a 12x12 foot patio, prior to laying 16x16 inch tile?
AnswerHi Hugo
Ok, the easiest way to level a patio area is to find a desired level (0) and find a continuation of this level '0' throughout the area using a spirit level, pegs and long straight boards. remember to allow 10 inches or so for a footing, dry mix and the tiles themselves while excavating the area. Then, when the excess soil has been excavated, make a solid 6 inch footing of simply make a dry mix of 2 parts sand, 2 parts cement and level that too.
The area is now ready to lay the tiles. Brush more dry mix over the laid tiles and this will set naturally with humidity or after the first rainfal and you wont smudge the tile's surface.
Thanks for any rating points in advance for this answer!
