QuestionThere is a mound that is about 9 ft. long in the middle of my yard. It gradually rises about 6 inches on one side, levels off to about 4 ft. and then gradually goes down about 1 ft. on the other side. I can't removed it because a water pipe is under it and I don't think a flower bed would look good in that area of my yard. I know when there is a dip in a yard, a little bridge looks nice, but what can I do about a mound? Do you have any suggestions?
Answer(Sorry for taking so long to reply - I'm in a job transfer at the moment.)
To your question: How about a rock garden? Different size rocks & boulders intermixed with perrenials, perhaps. And in the lower portion, a dry creekbed with smaller pebbles. I would't plant a tree (which might be o.k., if the water pipe wasn't there!) I like the bridge idea.
Just a thought off the top of my head, without actually seeing what you've got.
