QuestionI just had several trees removed and the stumps and root ground. The person who did the stump removal said that where the debris would be very acidic and I would not be able to plant grass successfully. Is this true, and what should I do to prepare the areas for planting? Thank you so much!
AnswerI guess that could be right. Depends on the tree type that was ground up. Personally I doubt if it will preclude grass from growing. Consider digging the area out to a depth of 12 inches and replacing the soil if you need to. Or simply add lime. You can purchase bagged lime at your local nursery or home store with a garden center.
Good Luck
