QuestionHi - I live in NJ. My landscaping includes pakisandra as a ground cover in most areas.
I have an area that is almost full sun. I planted some vibirnum carlesi and would like a ground cover around the plants that will handle the sun but grow fast and thick like pakisandra.
Nothing higher than about 8 inches, flowers are nice if they bloom for a long period, something that has a scent is good too. Priority is to cover the bed which tends to dry out easily in the sun.
Any suggestions?
thanks, ken
AnswerHello Ken
Pachysandra is a great ground-cover but it just can't stand the sun.
Try swathes of Convallaria majalis as it grows in some sun and emits a fantastic perfume. Looks great with white iris, hostas or polygonatum (Solomon's seal)
Let me know
