QuestionI went to school for landscape and design and was one of the first to use landcadd as an application for designing landscapes. I am now a business owner and am wanting to purchase the landcadd program for my business to help in my designs and planning of landscape installations. Do you know where I can find this program and about how much it costs. I will be honest in that I have not used the program since 94-95 but I know that it was by far the best software I have ever used and seen since then. I have found everything on landcadd but the actual software to be purchased and where to but it from.
Thanks for your help in this matter.
Jeff
AnswerHello, Jeff ?
I, too, was introduced to Landcadd back in '95 (at school). Even used in a bit, back in 2000. It has limitations, as does all software. The older version required a lot of data input to make the irrigation component really efficient. It requires a license for Autocad, as it is a "module" program that piggybacks on the Autodesk software.
Landcadd can be found at: http://www.eaglepoint.com/
I have also been impressed with LandF/X, created by one of my alma maters from Cal Poly, and it also works in conjunction with Autocad.
Check them out at: landfx.com
There is a third CAD program, Vectorworks, that integrates into Sketch-up, but I am unfamiliar with it.

As far as cost, I tried searching on google (shopping), smarter.com, pricegrabber.com, and bizrate.com. Zilch.
If you are an ASLA member, Eagle Point offers Landscadd at a discounted rate, but their link to Eaglepoint is dead.
Landcadd $ unknown
Land F/X runs $1,700
(+ basic Autocad LT 2009 @ $900 new / $500 upgrade)
I抎 try calling them directly:
Eagle Point Software Inc. (Dubuque, IA)
800-678-6565
Land F/X (San Luis Obispo, CA)
800-219-2365
There are other less expensive programs, but you specifically asked about Landcadd.
Hope it helps. All the best, and multiplied success in the future!
