QuestionI have a big steep and big slope in my back yard. Any idea how to landcape it with low cost? I prefer some drought-resistant plants on the slope. Your recommendation is very appreciated
AnswerHey, Cindy.
There are many things you can do. I like to terrace them and then create little platforms here and there where I can put some large pots with plants in them.
To hold the hillside together, I like ice plant, especially some of the newer varieties with their non-standard colors, such as pink, orange, golden, white, and vibrant red. Verbena also does well on hillsides.
You don't have to landscape all of it at one time. I rarely do. I'll plan everything, determine the cost, and then do each month what my budget will allow.
Check out the following file for some ideas. All the plants in the file, except one, were or are on properties of mine.
