ANSWER: Creeping bent grass (
Agrostis stolonifera ) is a desirable grass grown on golf courses.
If you cannot get rid of it, why not treat it as a lawn? You might like it.

QUESTION: HI RONALD, I DO NOT LIKE HOW THIS STUFF LOOKS IN MY LAWN. IT BROWNS UP FASTER IN THE FALL AND TAKES LONGER TO GET GREEN IN THE SPRING..I LIVE IN THE NORTH EAST U.S. MY QUESTION WAS HOW TO [[[GET RID OF THE STUFF,]]] NOT KEEP IT..THANK YOU...TOM IN ADVANCE..
AnswerTom,
You have done all of the things I would have suggested.
None of them has worked to your satisfaction.
Take a piece of sod out of the problem area and have the County Extension Agent identify the grass and they will give you recommendations as to how to get rid of it.
So sorry that I could not have helped you more.
