QuestionI could care less about what I plant in the portion of my yard fenced in for my dogs. The rest of my lawn is a traditional grass lawn, all well and good, but I would like to plant something different in the dog yard. Its about 130 x 50 feet. My only requirements for the plant must be hardy ( mixed between sun and shade under trees, plus the dog traffic) and green. I don't care if it flowers, needs mowing, or is considered undesirable or a weed. I am very interested in a clover lawn, but I have heard they are more fragile than turf lawns. Rye grass as well. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Rae
AnswerRae,Kikuyugrass is best for Dogs and high traffic. Its a beautiful turfgrass if you are able to find it in your area. Kikuyu is salt tallerent, so it will not burn with dog urine. I sell to many Dog parks in my area. Check out my Web site www.emeraldkikuyu.com All i grow is Kikuyu Sod, you can check - out my Turfgrass pictures.
Thank you.
