Questioni live in north ga and have fescue grass in the front which is relatively sunny. in the back yard i have a very shady yard. i have overseeded with a shade tolerant grass and it grows in the winter but by spring/summer it does not do well. the grass in the front grows well without supplement water. i have a fertilization program with a local company.
i have aerated/reseeded for the past few years and poor growth in spring/summer.
any ideas.. very frustrating.

Answer I cannot answer your question specifically; but, in general, trees and turf do not mix well. I see that you have been fighting this problem for a few years. Instead of fighting Mother Nature, work along with her and explore the possibility of a ground cover in the backyard.
