QuestionC.J.-
I think the previous home owner seeded bare spots with what ever type of grass seed that was on sale. I have various colored/textured patches throughout my lawn along with creeping charlie and clover. The only thing that is doing good is the creeping charlie and clover. When I spray, the creeping charlie is knocked back but the clover is somewhat unaffected. I have read about clover lawns. It seems that they would be quite easy to maintain. I have 3 children, how well do clover lawns do in traffic areas? Any opinion on clover lawns? I live in Iowa.
Thanks,
Jim
AnswerClover would not be a very good lawn for playing and traffic. The plant just isn't suited to traffic, and would probably get torn up pretty easily.
Clover is pretty easily controlled with "weed & feed" type products. If you want to get rid of it, I'd advise that you just try again. If you'd prefer to try switching to a clover lawn, I don't want to dissuade you, but I don't have much experience there.
Good luck Jim!
