QuestionI live in Northeast MS Is fescue a good sod for shady areas? Has soil tested for St Augustine, soil is acid, it calls for 225# per 1000 sq.. ft. 3# 34-0.0 2.5# 0-46.0 per 1000. I can not afford to cover all area with sod. Would seeding work.
Answer Would you believe that I had to look up which State is MS? I cannot interpret the pH and how to correct it from the information you have provided. I have no experience with fescue turf but every indication is that it is widely grown in the shade provided that such shade is not dense. St. Augustine grass seed is not available so sodding is the preferred method of lawn establishment.
