Question
Duchess
I applied Scott's Weed & Feed two days ago in the afternoon after it had rained the night before, while the grass was still moist. We have a bad dandelion/weed problem. I told my daughter to keep her little dog -- a Toy Poodle -- off of the lawn until it we had a soaking rain, which we did today --it rained from the wee hours into the evening. Is it now safe for the dog to go on the lawn? My wife says she won't allow the poodle on the lawn for two weeks. I say it's safe now. I would most appreciate some expert advice here. Thank you!
Answer The only advice and allow me to repeat for emphasis; the only advice which you must follow is on the label. I do not have the label for that product in front of me but it addresses your concerns. It is under the sections "Re-entry restrictions" and "Environmental Statements".
My guiding principle is "There are no safe chemicals; only safe ways of using chemicals." Therefore I would go with as long a period as is necessary for my own peace of mind.
I will add another guiding principle which has been consistently accurate.
"We are only as happy as our wives are."
