have area that is hard to grow grass

Question
Hello, my wife and i moved into our house about 5 years ago.  did work to back yard in small area where i removed a shed and put down 4-6" of soil and then laid sod.  i have grass back there now and it is pretty well established.  the front area grows except in one path where apparently the previous owners put pavers below the surface so they could drive across lawn with rv to park on side of house.  i wanted to aerate this area then seed and cover with compost and hope to get some grass to grow there again.  i don't have a lot of time or money to dig up pavers and thought this isn't a bad idea because when we do sell the house it is a selling point that someone can part boat or rv on side of house.  Anyhow i'd appreciate your help and suggestions.  thanks

Answer
For the future, the best practical answer to this challenge is to use pavers that allow grass to grow through them. (They have openings to allow this).
But you have a different challenge. Can you establish a grass like St. Augustine? This grass will produce so many roots that if some cannot feed well, the others make up the difference. St. Augustine grass will send runners out half way across the roadway and they  will all grow well because they are feeding from roots back there in the lawn.
I do not know where you live so I cannot offer a good suggestion as to type of grass.
