Questionmy whole lawn is turning black and if you rack it you just have dirt also it looks like there is a lot of worm holes also can you help me????
Answer This 'black' that you see; is it that the green blades of grass have turned black or is it that the earth is so dry and powdery that it covers everything? If it is the latter, then watering is what the grass needs (if there is any grass left). If the leaf has a film of soot-like material, then there has been an insect which may or may not be still present. If the black layer cannot be cleaned off, then it is internal. A common cause is the over application of iron to green it up. The holes may be evidence that birds have been foraging. They do so only when there are insects to be eaten.
