QuestionHow am I supposed to water 2 acres to keep my grass seed moist? Even with an automatic sprayer, this would be impossible to keep the entire area moist.
AnswerHi Jim,
I'm not sure what to tell you. If you are seeding an area that large, it'll be pretty tough unless you have an automatic sprinkler system.
I would recommend watering the primary areas and hoping for rain for the rest. This way, at least you know that the main areas will come in decently.
It's pretty simple though. Without water, the seed won't grow. I have clients who will often tell me that they want me to seed but cannot water. I explain that water is critical, but they insist that I seed anyway. After a few weeks of no rain, they demand that I return and re-do the job since it didn't work. Needless to say, there's an uncomfortable standoff at that point.
The seed does not care whether the watering is convenient or even possible. It only cares if it gets the water or not. Just try to do your best and we'll all hope for rain to help you out.
