Question12 years ago my lawn was a nice Bermuda grass. I planted trees and now the
grass is practically gone. It's hot in the summer and clay type soil although I
have a sprinkler system, the trees are taking all the water I think as the roots are
creeping on top of the ground? Help, I want grass again, what should I do?
AnswerGenerally, trees and grass do not do well together. The trees provide too much shade for most grasses and as time goes on, the tree roots become obstacles to practices like mowing.
You can have a green ground cover which is not a grass at all. Check with your County Extension Agent for a suitable type.
