QuestionI just read (and bookmarked) your answer on using sugar as a weed killer. I live in north texas, also. What do you use for fire ants? Won't the sugar attract them?
AnswerFire Ants can be controlled with baits, mound drenches, or insecticides. I'm not sure if sugar will attract them or not, but I've never recommended sugar for use as an herbicide. Perhaps you were thinking of someone else?
Sugar as an herbicide is kind of like using water in your car instead of gasoline. It'll cost less, be more environmentally friendly, and sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, it won't actually do anything.
Good luck.
