Living in Arizona with high children traffic and pet dogs.  I want to change the backyard rock area to grass.  Kids and animals have allergy to Bermuda grass.  Naturally, low maintenance would be great but need high durable and resistance to drought and heat with a good recovery from the lovely dog watering.  Would love to get back to a thick, green lawn that feels good on bare feet without itching.  Any ideas on a grass or sod that would fit these needs?  I did have bermuda before and it was a nightmare.

I'd recommend trying Zoysia. Make no mistake, there's only so much traffic and dog urine that ANY grass can take. That said, Zoysia's pretty tough and has a nice texture to it. It's say, give it a shot.
