QuestionHi C.J. I just removed Ivy in my front yard and I want to replace it with a grass I think is called Mondo grass. I'm looking to replicate the grass I see on the sides of a freeway here, it is very deep green and looks lumpy but smooth and I guess never needs mowing. I live in the west one mile from the coast. Would this make a low maintenance, drought resistqant lawn? Thanks Lance
AnswerI don't think Mondo grass is the way to go. Mondo grass is typically used as an ornamental grass, and it will grow about 9 - 10 inches tall.
I think you may be thinking of Buffalo grass. You might want to look into that.
