QuestionHi,
Please help I am a senior citizen woman who live alone. We have alot of snow here. Is there anyway at all to get rid of the snow in my driveway without shoveling or having it snowplowed. I have a heart conditon and can't shovel and I can't always get a plow man. Please help, would pouring water on it work? Is there anything I can do?
AnswerJulie,
A number of companies are now producing eco friendly snow and ice melter made from plant based ingredients. Made from corn or beets they are applied before the snow event and manufacturers claim they can melt up to 4" of falling snow. Take caution because they may discolor some pavement surfaces but when used as directed will not harm vegetation. The product is applied using a pump sprayer and if you live in an area where the snowfall occurs in this amount it may work for you.
