Small Lawn Water - No water, Shadow ligth?

Question

One side of the lawn
Hi, I installed San Agustine Palmeto in my back yard, and it is dying I have paid fro advise in Miami and contradictory things had happen. My backyard has a lot of shadow and the person who recommend my the San Agustine Palmetto told me this one was design for shadow. I installed and started dying. One person recommended to water 3 times a week. Nothing improved, another specialist commented do not water at all. Now I am at a lost. I attached a few pictures. I do have a very tall Oak and lots of shadow. I hope you can help me i am at a lost. Thank you cheers from Miami Roland

Answer
There is something green growing there. I cannot tell what it is but it might be a little of the grass which you installed. It could also be wild Bermuda grass.
How did you install your lawn? By sod? Plugs?
And do you have a sprinkler system? What are those dark patches on  the left side of the photo? And what is covered under the blue tarp? Is it a pool? (Chlorine can damage lawns).
Taken together, it might seem like you got conflicting advice but each bit might have been right for the time and condition. For instance, if it is dry, I might recommend that you water twice a day. After a week, your lawn might be so wet that I might recommend that you stop all watering. When this sort of thing happens, we have got to look for another reason. Maybe your sprinkler system is watering too much; perhaps the ground is not draining well. You and I together can find out the cause and remedy that; then you will have a good, growing lawn. So, talk to me!
          Best wishes from Ronald.
