QuestionBirds and squirrels wreck havoc in trying to repair an established lawn. I have put down burlap in certain areas of the lawn. If this is good to do, how long should I keep the burlap down and will this method be the best way of protecting the repair areas of my lawn short of shooting the squirrels, etc. Thank you kindly for your help.
regards,
Fred
AnswerHi Fred,
Keep checking under the burlap until you see the start of the grass blades poking through. Once they do, get it off. They'll need the sunlight immediately and they could grow into the burlap if it is left on too long. When you try to pull it off at that point, it'll rip up the new grass.
Good luck!
