QuestionI have a Bermuda lawn which had several spots of crab grass. I have sprayed twice with Ortho Weed B Gon with crab grass control. It has been two weeks since I last sprayed and I want to get my winter rye in. There are still patches of weeds. I know I must cut low and I was going to verticut before I planted. My questions are: is there a weed control that I should use after the rye comes up, how long should I wait and/or should I spray once more before I plant?
AnswerIt all depends on the weeds you are going after. If it's crabgrass, you need to get it while it's young. Once it's fully grown, you'll need to either pull it or spot treat with round up.
Any weed product with MSMA will usually give you some control over crabgrass as long as it is applied when the crabgrass is young and susceptible.
Good luck!
