QuestionHi,
I just planted my new seed on Sunday. It is now Friday and I can see the blades sticking out of the ground. However, they aren't very green. Actually pretty yellow. What is the cause and how can I correct this? Thanks for your help.

AnswerIt sounds as if there's either a) a nitrogen deficiency, b) an iron deficiency, or c) a low pH.
If you've already fertilized, a and b are likely not the main culprits, so do a pH test to see how low it is. If it's below 6.0, then apply limestone to correct it into the 6 - 7 range.
If you haven't fertilized, then do so asap. The nitrogen and iron give the grass its full, green color. My guess is that this is what's going on.
Good luck!
