Question
About three weeks ago we laid new sod. I have never seen mushrooms in our yard but they are everywhere on the new sod. Am I watering too much because the sod company told me I couldn't water enough? I live in northern Minnesota and since we layed the sod it has been dry. Did the mushrooms come in the sod? Should I put something on the sod to eliminate them?

Mushrooms freak people out, but there is probably nothing bad about these and you have nothing to worry about.

Much more important that you should keep your new sod installation moist.  The mushrooms are a good sign at least that there are no Fungicides interfering with them.

Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies -- the flowers -- of fairly invisible Fungi.  Once the carbon in the Organic Matter that nourishes them is used up, they will be history.  Fear not.
