QuestionWe bought a new house in south jersey and we inherited a bad front yard with the house. There are lots of different types of weeds and some bald patches. I sprayed ortho last week in the hope to get rid of the weeds but I am not sure if its going to kill all the weekds. Shoud I redo the whole lawn by killing all the vegetation or is there a better/easier way. Thanks in advance for your help.

In the given circumstances selective herbicides will not give you desired results. Don't worry too much. Just follow the following steps
1 Spray Round up @ 50 ml/gal all over the lawn as it will finish your whole lawn.
2 Wait for at least 20 days
3 Clear the debris
4 Seed your lawn again with basal fertilizer or you can spread sods but costly.
5 Try for Scott or Lesco seeds and fertilizer.
6 After 30 days you get a fresh new lawn.
