QuestionHi, I live in Boston and I would like to know when I can Hydroseed. Of course I would like to do it in April but I don't know if that is the right time? Have you ever heard of a Hydroseed company quarantee the lawn to grow?
My father lives in Long Island, Riverhead, and I want a lawn like the sod lawns I pass all summer long.
AnswerHydroseeding is becoming a popular way to sow Lawns. But it is often
an unnecessary expense -- no one NEEDS to hydroseed flat ground -- but for yourproperty, it may be a perfect solution. Or may NOT be.
For hills and slopes, it rivals sod for effectiveness. The process involves spraying the ground with amixture of water, Grass seed and growing medium, as though you were spray-painting the land. Special equipment is needed; don't expect every landscaper you reach to be able to offer it. Something tells me that Boston being one of the more progressive cities in the country, several gardening services will be familiar with it.
Please tell me what sold you on Hydroseeding and alternatives or considerations.
