QuestionTom
We have read with great interest the responses of
charlotte B to the sugar being used on lawns. Would centipede benefit from this with its intolerance to lime or are there no connections between the two
thanks
Allen
AnswerAllen:
You will have to ask Charlotte B. I have no experience with using sugar in the landscape.
Soil chemistry and the nutrient cycle are complex. From a superficial analysis, I would believe that sugar may draw soil toward acid, making lime the foil for its use.
Best wishes.
