QuestionI have installed a French drain to address drainage problems in our lawn. The French drains have been covered with river rock, this seems to of helped to a certain extent. My problem however is that the ground adjacent to the gravel is still very moist, and we are essentially unable to walk in those area. Instead of trying to adding additional costly French drains, I'm trying to determine if there are any kind of plants, or bushes that may absorb water and help me eliminate this problem. I live in the Pittsburgh area. The property behind my house is sloped.
AnswerHi Gene
I think you have done very well. All you need to do that you can make trenchesduring your landscaping so that youe lawn water table goes below that or you can plan small pond in your lawn to resove this issue. You can use Tall fescue as it require more water with basal dose of fertilizer. That's it.
