QuestionWe have a new lawn put in last year. We watered it well when we shifted in.Now we are getting brown patches as if it is dying off. We did not plant the lawn so don't know what seed was used.We live in Taupo.
AnswerJocelyn:
I do not know where Taupo is. What state?
From your description, the cause could be fungus, insects or burn from some material - dog urine, chemicals, fertilizer.
I would ask your ag agent to do an analysis on tissue samples of the grass. Fungus and insects can be treated. Other causes will have to be removed or you will have to wait until the effect wears off.
Best wishes.
