QuestionA different type of grass is taking over my lawn. It is fine (green) during the cool, wet winter months, but just can't keep it green in the summer. I water the lawn equally and the original grass stays green, but this new stuff just stays yellow. When I peel away the outer yellow shaft of it, the inside shaft is green! What's up?
AnswerSteve:
Sorry about your grass. Since I do not know hwere you live and what type of grass you have permanently in your yard, I can not guees what type the seasonal grass is.
If it were in northern states above SC, it may be poa annua, which dies when hot weather comes, usually above 85 deg F.
