QuestionTom: Have you seen the infomercial for patch perfect. Does this product work? It looks to good to be true. Thanking You In Advance BOB
AnswerBob:
I have no experience with "Patch Perfect" lawn seed. I remember a saying, "If it sounds too good to be true,.... it usually is.:
I visited the website and found no description of the type of seed used. It is described as a mix of sun and shade lawn seed. However, it may also be filled with some seed that performs extremely well, and may not be the type you want in your yard.
I recommend using certified seed with known turf varieties, germination rates and weed seed content. You may pick a variety which does not match your lawn type to fill bare areas, like Bermuda in a fescue/bluegrass lawn, if you wish to make your own blend.
I would not like to find Nimble Will, Buffaloe grass or something similar in my own lawn.
I will wait until the turf specialists at some state universities test this, disclose what is in it, and rate it before using or recommending it.
Best wishes.
