Cornmeal Gluten

Question
When speaking with an acquaintance about purchasing the TurfMaize brand of CGM at a nearby national retailer, he said that he has been buying his CGM in powder form (unpatented) at the local farmer's co-op store, where it is sold as a type of cattle feed!  The only tricky part is that it is so fine that it must be applied on a very still, non-windy day, but that he's found it to work very well.  Have you heard of others doing this, and if this form of CGM is just as good as the pelleted, patented brands?  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

Answer
Jim:

I have no experience with CGM.  It would appear that the active agent has nothing to do with particle size.  Since the product is a rather simple one, brand, patent, or source would seem to have little impact on its effectiveness.

Again, I have no experience with this product.  You have piqued my curiosity though.

Best wishes.
