QuestionThanks for being willing to answer my question. Here goes. I live in central Mississippi and I would like to know what height should Byhalia grass be maintained to when cutting it in the summer months? I have seen people cut it almost to the root system and this is the reason I ask. Thanks so much.
AnswerJeffrey:
For mowing Bahia grass, it is recommended that a height of 3-4 inches be maintained, not cutting more than one third of the grass at a time. For example, if height desired is 3 inches, mow when it is 4 1/2 inches.
Other summer grasses, like Bermuda, zoysia, are mown at lower heights.
