QuestionIt seems that I have more nut grass than lawn this year. It would have to be cut every other day. How do I get rid of only the nut grass?
AnswerPeter:
Please check the answer given to Larry Rogers, labelled "disastrious lawn."
Basically, an herbicide containing MSMA, like Basagran or Manage, a new one, will eventually give you control. They may not eradicate the nutgrass, but they should reduce population considerably.
Of course, that will leave bare spots which will have to be replanted.
The other alternative is to spray with Roundup or similar product and replant the whole area. This will only give you one season of relief. A program will be needed to get rid of nutgrass, a worthy foe.
