QuestionI am from Southern Saskatchewan Canada and we put sod in, about 10 years ago. We are finding the grass is seeding itself very low on the grass blade and doesn't have a nice appearance. Is this normal or what can we do stop this from happening?
AnswerHi Jolene;
It depends on what kind of grass you have.
I haven't heard of grass seeding so low on the blade that it is below the mower blade setting.
Better if you asked nurserymen in your area. They are more informed about that type of grass, climate etc, and possibly know why this happens.
I don't know what sort of Government services you have in Canada. In the US, we have County Extension Agents that are very aware of all the soil, vegetation etc in our area, and all the information you can get on it, you can get from them, freely.
I'm sorry I couldn't help more.
