QuestionWe are just starting a lawn on what was previously farmed with corn. Have seeded and new growth. I am letting the new growth grow. It has seeds on the top. How long should I wait before I cut it? I am hoping the grass will seed itself. Does this work?
AnswerHi Margie;
If the grass that has the seeds on it is the grass you want, let it drop it's seeds before you mow it, then you should have a really thick lawn.
Keep watching the seed pods on the grass. You will be able to tell when they have opened and dropped their seeds.
