Ken, I have Saint Augistine grass and would like to dethatch it. I have been told there is an attachment I could buy for my lawn mower. Is there such a thing?

Hi Jo Ann;
Do you have a thatch pad keeping water to kep from getting to your grass roots?
If not, detyhatching is just a waste of time and effort.
Dethatchjing does nothing but get rid of a thatch pad, and if you don't have one, there is no ned to dethatch.
The best way to dethatch is to rake it with a garden ( not grass rake or lawn broom) rake, and it WILL uproot a lot of St. Augustine runners, so will a dethatcher attachment.
