do dandylions come out during the day and close up at night? @ my mother-in laws house i noticed all these dandylions(tons), and come night fall they were gona... i know my daughter didn't pick that many!!!...lol...

Do you mean the yellow dandelion flowers, or the little white cotton puffs that forms on dandelions?
If it is the white pom poms, they mush have been blown away by a gust of wind. If it is the yellow flowers, I have no idea what happened, unless it was time for the flowers to drop so the pom poms could form.
Or, it is entirely possible that your daughter picked them all, or had some help from another child or children.
They may not have been playing with her, but just out picking dandelion flowers.
I know from when I was a kid, that one or two children can clear out a field of wild flowers in not too long a time.LOL
