QuestionI have been reading your info and think I may have fungus in my bermuda. What concentration should I use to spray with baking soda and what type of sprayer? Should the baking soda be used at the same time or differents times from sugar? Thanks so much
AnswerHi Phyllis;
Becauise you water in the sugar so well, ( to a depth of at least 6 inches) I would apply the sugar, then spray with baking soda.
If you have a whole large lawn to treat, you might prefer to use Agricultural Corn Meal for the fungus.
You apply it at the rate of 10 to 15 pounds per 1000 sq.ft and water it in. You could apply it and the sugar together and water them both in together.
Unless the fungus is really a bad infestation, I would use 10 pounds of ag corn meal.
I use baking soda mostly for the black spot on my roses and the powdery mildew on my crepe myrtles etc.
Because my soil is so balanced with the organic program having been followed for 10 years, I just have not had fungus in the grass in about 8 years.
The baking soda mixture is about 4 teaspoons per gallon of water.
You can just mix that in a garden sprayer and spray with it.
You want to soak the soil, but not drench it several inches deep. The baking soda will soak into the soil.
