QuestionNew sod was put down 3 years ago, fescue, we were gone a lot last year and it wasn't watered peoperly. now we have spotty grass and dead areas that don't seem to want to come back with new seeding.
AnswerHi Dex;
You could have some fungus in the soil and that is keeping new grass from growing.
If you follow an organic program, baking soda disolved in water, and sprayed on the area, and surrounding it should work, or a tea made with agricultural corn meal.
You could play it safe, if fungus is a problem in your area, and treat the whole yard.
With Agricultural corn meal, apply about 10 pounds per 1000 sq.ft, and water it in.
That should kill any fungus in a matter of a couple of days, and you can them plant or resod that area.
