QuestionI'm pretty sure my lawn is suffering from brown patch. Since it's the second week of November and the grass won't be growing a lot more this year, do I need to treat it or will the fungus die when the temperatures get cooler. And will new grass grow in the damaged areas next spring if I do not treat the brown patch now? What should I do, if anything?
AnswerHi Cindy.
Where I live it seldom gets cold enough to really kill out a fungus, so I treat if I get one.
An application of Horticultural cornmeal would kill out the fungus.
Apply 10 to 20 pounds per 1000 sq.ft.
That will kill the fungus. You should be able to get it at garden centers where they seel organic products. Most nursery and garden centers carry some organics now.
Also disolving one very well rounded Tablespoonful of baking soda per gallon of water and spraying the area will work.
