What is the latest that you can plant fall grass seed? If you are close to the beginning of frost, should the seed be planted and left alone or should it be watered every day after planting?

Len, It is getting to the end of the fall grass seed planting season - but that depends on what part of the country you are writing from.

Or should I say what part of the world?

I answered questions this year from Southeast Asia and several this month from Australia.  And there was one from England.  So you see, if you live in Florida, or China, and you are growing grass, it is not too late.  But if you are in Minnesota, or Maine, you may have missed the boat.

Please narrow down the map a little for me and give me a city nearby that I can check for USDA zone.  And I can help you much better that way.  rsvp!

I live in south central Wisconsin, almost on the Illinois border. I live in Monroe. The closest major cities to me are Janesville, WI, or Freeport, Ill.

If you go to the link, you will see the counties in Wisconsin with different zones.  Please let me know which one you think you have.  I don't see any map with Monroe or Janesville listed - sorry to have to do this, but if I don't know where you are, I can't give you the right answer.
