QuestionMy lawn is a bent grass mess. It has choked out most of the other turf grasses planted over the years.
Do you know if Gardens Alive pre emergent corn gluten would make a dent in it. I have some and used it for the first time last spring. I had decided to go organic.
It would seem the only path would be to kill everything and start over. A lot of work and time.
AnswerHi Rita;
I don't know. It should stop the seeds from germinating if it is a pre-emergent.
Bent grass doesn't spread by runners like St.Augustine does, does it?
I just don't know if what is there will come up next year.
If you are into organics.
I would suggest you go to Howard Garrett's site, and join the ground crew.
That just means you pay the yearly subscription, which I think is $25.00, and you get full excess to the site.
Howard Garrett is Texas' resident organic guru, and although he writes for mostly Texas gardeners, what works in one part of the country, works in another.
Plants are plants, just different weeds, molds etc to deal with, and temps.
He has a long list of videos he has made you can view, and go to the forums and post questions there, and other gardeners respond with their experience with the product or process. You get a monthly online newsletter, and a snail mail magazine.
I joined a couple of months ago, and have learned so much more about organics.
It is very well worth the subscription fee.
He has more than one video where he discusses corn gluten, I think.
He is a scientist as well as an Agriculturist, and he has several labs, for his experiments, and tesing products and home remedies.
He really knows his stuff about organics.
